Truma heating – Error 112 / 121 / 122 / 202 / 211 / 212 / 408 / 507 / 516 / 517 (Gas supply issue)

Fix Truma gas-related error codes by checking the gas supply, valves, and system setup, with video guidance.

Updated yesterday

What does this mean?

These errors occur when the heater is not receiving enough gas, even if there is still enough gas to cook.

Heating and refrigeration require more gas than cooking.

Models this applies to

  • Volkswagen Grand California

  • Fiat Ducato

Step-by-step solution

1. Check the gas bottle

  • Make sure there is enough gas in the bottle

  • Low gas levels may still allow cooking but not heating

  • See video on how to check the gas supply

2. Check the gas connection

  • Ensure the gas bottle is properly connected

  • Make sure the valve on top of the bottle is fully open

  • See video on how to open the gas valve

3. Check internal gas valves

  • Locate the internal gas valves

  • Usually under the kitchen sink or under the rear seat

  • Make sure all valves are in the open position (follow sticker instructions)

  • See video on how to check internal gas valves

4. Reset the Truma panel

  • Press the rotary button to confirm or clear the error

  • Note: the first press may only activate the screen

  • See video on how to reset the panel

5. Wait 15–20 minutes

  • After resetting, wait 15–20 minutes

  • Keep the system on and do not interrupt power

⚠️ Important (Error 507 / 516 / 517)

If you see error 507, 516 or 517:

  • The heater is temporarily blocked for 15 minutes

What to do:

  • Wait the full 15 minutes

  • Do NOT turn off the system

  • Do NOT interrupt power

After 15 minutes:

  • The error will stop flashing and become steady

  • You can then reset it

Still not working?

If the error remains:

  • Contact us via our website (Joey)

  • Send a photo of the panel and error code

Good to know

  • These errors are usually related to gas supply, not a defect

  • Always check gas levels first

  • Avoid resetting the system multiple times without fixing the issue
