Toilet Cassette Won’t Come Out

Having trouble removing the toilet cassette? Don’t worry. In most cases this is caused by the toilet blade remaining closed, the service hatch being locked, or the cassette not being fully released.

Step 1: Open the exterior toilet hatch

Go to the outside of the camper and check:

☑ Is the toilet service hatch fully open?
☑ Is it unlocked?

The cassette can only be removed through the external hatch.

Step 2: Check the toilet blade position

Before removing the cassette:

☑ Make sure the toilet blade/flap is fully CLOSED

Important:

The cassette will often not remove correctly if the blade remains open.

Step 3: Check the release mechanism

Most toilets have:

☑ A release lever
OR
☑ A locking clip

Check:

☑ Is the release fully operated?

Do not pull excessively.

Step 4: Pull slowly and evenly

Try:

☑ Pulling the cassette slowly
☑ Keep it level
☑ Avoid twisting

Sometimes the cassette simply needs gentle alignment.

Step 5: Do not force it

Please do NOT:

✖ Pull aggressively
✖ Use tools
✖ Force the cassette

This can damage:

• Plastic runners
• Seals
• Locking systems
